It’s finally time for us to drop the passcode barrier and open up Gobo to the general public.
If you’ve been part of our pilot program, you know we required passcodes as a way to stay in close touch with our earliest users and provide “white glove” service to help handle questions or issues. It gave us confidence that we could quickly detect and resolve unforeseen challenges or needs we didn’t anticipate. It’s how we wanted to act like a real partner, not just a product.
Fast forward a year and a half. We’ve sold over $125k in tickets for more than 90 events. We’ve built out loads of new functionality, and we’ve automated everything on the back end. That’s why we’re taking a big step forward by dropping the passcode wall. Mind you, we’re not making any massive announcements or big advertising moves (yet), and we’ll still focus on the Twin Cities area as our primary launch market — while remaining totally open and operational for customers across the United States.
TL;DR = Anyone who wants to use Gobo to sell tickets can now just come on in, create an account, and give it a try.
As always, we don’t do contracts, and we don’t ask for long-term commitments. Just try it out. If you like it, keep using it. If you don’t like it or wish for something different, please tell us. We know we can’t be everything to everybody, but responding to feedback is a big priority for us as humans and as a company. Gobo is built by people who do shows for people who do shows. We want to know what you need.
So: While the passcodes may be retiring, that “white glove” attention isn’t going anywhere. If you’re already a pilot participant, let your friends and colleagues know what you like about Gobo and invite them to give it a shot. The barrier to easier, more equitable ticketing just got lower, and we’re amped to start helping more people focus on what matters: making cool events and performances happen. If you’re in touch with the live entertainment scene, you know there’s a lot happening beyond the traditional clubs, concert halls, and independent venues. Artists are breaking free from the confines of mainstream venues, and we are absolutely here for it. Gobo was built from the ground up to help celebrate and support people hosting alternative events, from intimate house shows to underground warehouse gigs.
Cheers,
The Gobo Team 🎶 🎉
